This work is written in four movements and was commissioned by Erin Foley and the Olympia High School Titan Orchestra Program.
Based on the Pulitzer Prize winnng Novel, The Yearling, by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, this chamber suite treats us to an aural depiction of life in the heart of the Ocala National Forest, Florida, in the 1870's. Reminisce on the images of Jody, Penny (his father), their home, and Flag the fawn; while exploring Jody's feelings of responsibility, danger, friendship, and love.
